Q1: Why does Google show a different country or city?
Google and Turbo VPN rely on different IP geolocation databases. These databases are maintained by third-party providers and are not always synchronized. As a result, the same VPN IP address may be mapped to different locations by Google and by Turbo VPN.
Additionally, with its own massive database, Google also refers to external IP databases and make corrections based on the actual situation. For example, if it finds that a large number of Saudis are using Singaporean IPs, it will correct Singaporean IPs to Saudi IPs.
Q2: Does this mean Turbo VPN is connected to the wrong location?
No. Turbo VPN connects you to the correct server and routes your traffic through that IP. The difference you see is caused by how Google interprets that IP, not by the VPN connection itself.
Q3: Why do IP databases differ?
IP location databases can differ because:
Updates are applied at different times
VPN IPs are reassigned or expanded to new regions
Some databases map IPs to a provider’s registered location rather than the physical server
Q4: Can this be fixed?
Yes, in most cases:
Refresh the page after reconnecting to the VPN
Switch to another server in the same country
Wait for Google’s IP database to update (this usually happens automatically over time)
Q5: Does this affect my security or privacy?
No. This is a location labeling issue only. Your IP traffic is still encrypted and protected by Turbo VPN.
